I’m Here

I’ve been doing the Women In Publishing Summit the last few days, and wow, it is so good. As an indie author, it can be really hard to know what to do next. This online conference is full of strategies and connections, and I’m so excited for the future of my author career because of it.

One of things that has been hitting home is to be consistent and let your audience know what you offer. For me, that’s cozy, funny fantasy romance. It’s a half-feral princess, knights who look damn good in their uniforms, and magic that causes chaos. The kind of books you read when the world is overwhelming, and you just want to curl up with a fuzzy blanket and an iced coffee. If that sounds good, I hope you’ll give my books a chance.

If it’s not for you… I’m sorry, that must be difficult. Have you considered getting a pet?

Let the Wild Rumpus Begin

I was going to name this page “Writing Advice,” like I have some grand insight into the art of writing novels. I don’t. That’s why I’m putting my books into the world all on my own. So, I’ve named this blog what it might appropriately be called. I’ll use this page to share what I feel would fit the theme. You might find some musing on writing here. You might find some behind-the-scenes stuff on the fantasy world I’m creating. Or maybe I’ll write about my absolute belief that Die Hard is a Christmas movie. John McClane’s motivation is to SEE HIS KIDS AT CHRISTMAS, which he can’t do if he doesn’t save his estranged wife from Hans Gruber. By contrast, Die Hard 2 is NOT A CHRISTMAS MOVIE, despite being set at Christmas because his goal is to stop the terrorists and save Holly from the plane crash.

Motivation is powerful stuff. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
